There are two ways for changing the Joomla website user password.
First Option:
Locate the dashboard login page and then click on Forgot your password.
On the next page you must input the contact email address that is set up on registration and submit the password reset request.
If the email address is correct, the password reminder will be emailed to you and you will be able to gain the Joomla profile access.
Second Option:
The second option enables you to reset any user password including Administrator / Super User
Login to your cPanel account and click on the phpMyAdmin menu.
In case you don’t remember the name of the exact database assigned to the website, you might locate it in the configuration.php file. This file is located in the root folder of Joomla installation.
In phpMyAdmin, find the right database name and click on it.
After this, a list of tables will show up. Scroll down to find a table known as ‘users’ and click on it.
Search for the user for which you want to change the password and click on the ‘Edit’ button present next to it.
A new window will be opened, locate the password option and replace the current password with the new password in the Value column. After this, change function to MD5 in ‘Function’ column and click on Go.
That’s it!!
